Beautifully refinished Mid-Century Modern desk produced in Italy circa 1950s. Featuring black steel and wood frame with large brass elements and alternating black and white drawer fronts.
This design has been previously attributed to Ico Parisi and Franco Albini, although we have not seen any documentation on this so it is listed as 'style of Gio Ponti' in which many design similarities exist with this desk and his body of work.
This Italian Mid-Century Modern writing table would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Space Age Mod, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Post-Modern, Contemporary or Zen / Minimalism room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Hollywood Regency, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office.

CONDITION:
Wood was refinished. Brass has natural age and patina. Some age visible through refinish. Lock is present but no key is accompanied with the desk. If you wish to use the locking mechanism a new key will need to be made or the lock replaced. Ready for immediate use. less
