Born in Scandinavia during the 19th century, this pair of Rococo style armchairs features a shaped splat topped with a carved shell. This pierced back is connected to two serpentine arms flanking a rectangular seat, reupholstered with a neutral fabric and resting on a sinuous support. The ensemble is raised on four legs, cabriole in the front and turned in the back, connected to one another through a cross stretcher. The chairs have been painted in a soft color typical of the Scandinavian taste for light palettes aiming at brightening the rooms during the long winters.
