Rare Signed Set Of 6 Paint Decorated Plank Seat Chairs, Columbia, PA Circa 1870s
Made by John Shenberger, cabinetmaker and undertaker on Locust Street in Columbia, PA (1827-1895)
Chairs are stamped on the bottom. 5 chairs are stamped, one is stamped twice. (See picture of the stamp)
Set of 6 brown and floral paint decorated chairs. Original Painted surface with a protective over lacquered top coat.
Size: 32 1/2" tall, 18" wide, 15" deep, with a 17" seat height.
Condition: Excellent overall Condition, Lots of use and wear marks consistent with age. Paint loss and wear are consistent with age/use. Painted surface case been over lacquered. see pictures
