A Chinese porcelain bowl made for export to the Japanese market during the late Ming dynasty. Decorated with a signature orange glaze with greenish and gold accents, these dishes are referred to as Gosu-Akae by the Japanese and are characterized by their lively brushwork. From an old Japanese collection, this piece retains much of its charm and has only slightly changed in it's nearly 400 years of use. Suitable as a decorative object, or a wonderful conversation piece on your dining table. The bowl comes with an old Japanese tomobako storage box.
