From 1987 to 2004 Lalique Crystal was the official host of the international figure skating competition, Lalique Crystal Trophies which took place every year in Paris. To commemorate this event, Lalique Crystal created the crystal trophy. Inspired by a pirouette by the famed skater, Katarina Witt, 2 time Olympic champion.
