Gold, GORGEOUS, and a GUNLOCKE reputation to boot!!! This is a FANTASTIC set of four Gunlocke armchairs composed of marvelous walnut frames with A shaped sides, straight tapered legs with a little back lean, side stretchers, and a front apron giving the seat and back cushions a floating effect in the frame… Talk about awesome!! They are wearing gorgeous gold-ish tan or khaki toned gold distressed leather fabric on the seats and backs and feature steel nail head detail on the seam of the back seat cushions. I mean… Talk about easy on the eyes!!! WOW!!! The leather on the chairs is in what we like to call “perfectly imperfect” condition as they show distressing and signs of wear and use as you would expect given their age however, we also think it just enhances their vintage charm and we chose to leave it as such. They are Mid-Century Modern in style with a Scandinavian Modern flair, and they will be wonderful side or accent chairs in your living or family room, facing the fireplace in the den, or across from the desk in your study. They’re going to look incredible in ANY room. They’re sophisticated, comfortable, versatile, and absolutely gushing with Gunlocke Greatness!!!
For over a century, Gunlocke has manufactured great furniture for large and small companies, government agencies and even U.S. Presidents. In 1902 William H. Gunlocke and four other wood furniture experts acquired a vacant factory in Wayland, New York where they established the W. H. Gunlocke Chair Company, which initially specialized in seating for homes, libraries, and lounges. They rapidly grew, expanding their range of products to include office seating and steam bending in the company’s manufacturing process. Gunlocke was awarded its first National Contract with Western Electric and despite the Depression, Gunlocke continued to grow. President Franklin D. Roosevelt enhanced the company’s prestige by choosing Gunlocke furniture for the White House. In 1937, following the death of his father, Howard Gunlocke became president and established the use of direct salespeople and showrooms; then, in the 1940’s during the war years, primarily Gunlocke’s output was for government and military facilities. In 1962 President John F. Kennedy made crucial Cuban Missile Crisis decisions – from his Gunlocke chair in the Oval Office and in 2002, Gunlocke celebrated its 100th anniversary. With the latest high-tech equipment and State-of-the-art machinery, Gunlocke continues to produce superior wood furniture at competitive prices.
This set of 4 walnut & gold leather Gunlocke armchairs is sure to make a BANG in your home, wherever you choose to use them! What are you waiting for? You simply MUST make them YOURS!!!
