The Palais Royal is a former French royal residence. Situated across from the Louvre, it is one of the great landmarks of central Paris. The palace surrounds a public park and courtyards with sculptures. The interior arcade contains shops.
In the foreground of the view is the court of honor with "Photo-Souvenir - Les Deux Plateaux", by Daniel Buren. The sculptural installation consists of short columns of various sizes placed at regular intervals across the courtyard.
