By the way These Types of Stoneware Items were Fired in Large Kilns with Many Other Pieces at the Same Time and These and Other Types of Kiln Flaws are Quite Common. IMPERFECTION NOTED - The Base - Bottom was Drilled - Has 2 Holes that Indicate a Previous Owner Intended it to Be Used as a Planter for Drainage Purposes. less

This Really is a Great Looking Authentic Antique American Primitive Stoneware Storage Crock. Circa Late 19th Century. It has a Classic American Salt Glaze Exterior. The Front has a Large and Beautiful Blue Hand Decorated Stylized Flower Design. The Front is Embossed with the Well Documented and Much Sought After Makers Name - JOHN BURGER JR. ROCHESTER NEW YORK. It is Also Decorated with the Number 2 Denoting it Two Gallon Storage Capacity. These type of Crocks were Commonly Used to Store a Variety Food and Other Items. It is in Very Nice Strong - Sound & Usable Condition - Displays Beautifully.
