A good ca. 1740 edition map of Ireland, titled “‘Regnum Hiberniae,” with strong hand coloring clearly identifying the different regions, and nice decorative elements incorporating symbols of Ireland at the corners. Seutter was German and well known by 1732 when he was given the honorific title of “Imperial Geographer.” Plate mark is visible all the way around. Good antique condition with minimal toning to the fine textured laid paper, with a horizontal center fold. Frame is brightly gilt and molded, with attractive sporadic wear and showing hints of dark bole beneath the gilding.
