While there are some minor blemishes, they are inconspicuous due to the thorough restoration. There are small holes in the back area, indicating past woodworm activity, which has been treated. The damage on the right bottom side panel has been repaired (see images). The legs are in great condition, but the corner molding between the legs and the body shows slight separation, which is normal with age. The molding on the front right leg has a crack (see images). All drawers are in good condition, with one repaired. Some drawers have serial numbers (see images). The large front drawer has a lock but is missing the key. There is a separation between the top gallery piece and the shelf area, typical for its age (see images). The bottom panel of the body shows separation but has been secured to maintain the piece's integrity (see images). Please note that this desk is non-disassemblable and must be moved as one solid piece. H= 61 in. W= 49 in. D= 23.5 in. 120 lbs. less

This Early 19th Century George III satinwood desk exemplifies the elegance and craftsmanship of the period with its neoclassical design. The piece features intricate inlay work, curved lines, and refined decorations, all raised on slender tapering legs. It includes a green leather-lined writing surface that can be elevated when needed and showcases neoclassical imagery, wood cutout trimming, and windowed doors.
Crafted from warm, yellowish-gold satinwood, known for its hard texture and natural luster, this desk reflects the sophisticated style of George III furniture. Combining elements of both Hepplewhite and Sheraton designs, it illustrates the transitional nature of early 19th-century British furniture making.
This desk is not only functional but also a beautiful statement piece, ideal for any home.
