This is a Really is a Great Looking and Quite Unusual Antique Early American Country Primitive Trencher - Dough Bowl. Classic Rustic Americana - Circa Late 19th Century. It is Completely Hand Carved - Hand Hewn out of One Solid Piece of Indigenous North American Hardwood - Possibly Alder or Beach Wood. It has Been Used Much Over the Years and Along the way Has Acquired a Interesting and Unique Hand Hammered & Shaped Thin Brass and Steel Tack Applied Overlay Utilitarian Repair. It is Very Good, Strong & Usable Condition and it has that Wonderful Age and Use Related Patina that Cannot be Duplicated - Displays Beautifully!. I purchased this piece on one of my recent picking trips in the Cape Cod Massachusetts Region. It would make a Great Centerpiece - Decoration. It Could Also be Used to Serve Bread, Biscuits, Fruits, Nuts, Tortilla Chips ???? Etc.
