After WWII The United States helped in the reformation of that nations infostructure including factories and housing. The Japanese turned their hands to creating many importable goods. The Japanese were miracle workers at copying and reproducing exacting replicas of a myriad of interesting goods such as this 1920s-30s design used in creating this rose pattern wooden hand painted silver plaited egg holder. The egg itself is an artistic accomplishment with it's many layers of lacquer and paint creating a woodland landscape. I found this novel piece at a vintage store in West Hollywood California.
