About The Maker:
The Carl Thieme porcelain company was founded in 1886 in Potschappel, Saxony, Germany, by Carl-Johann Gottlob Thieme. The town of Potschappel, along with the nearby towns of Dresden and Meissen, has a long history of porcelain production dating back to the 18th century.
The company quickly became one of the most successful porcelain factories in Germany. In 1900, the company was awarded a gold medal at the World's Fair in Paris for its exquisite porcelain figurines. The Carl Thieme porcelain company continued to produce high-quality porcelain until its closure in 1935.
Today, antique Carl Thieme porcelain pieces are highly collectible and can be found in museums and private collections around the world. They are valued for their artistic quality and historical significance in the world of European porcelain manufacturing.

*Please note, we typically do not include a lamp shade, as we've found if we include a shade the customer typically ends up immediately replacing it with one of their choosing /matching color / interior decor. So without having to include one we're able to lower both the item and shipping price to account for it. Shades can be found at most any home goods / lighting stores, big box retailer, fine department stores, or online. less
