It's angled lengthwise and at first we thought it was some sort of dough bowl, but when posing it with our wine bottle for reference, it made perfect sense as a wine bottle holder to let wine breathe and decant - see second image. The end at the opposite side of the cut out handle is angled perfectly to hold a wine bottle up!! This piece is hand carved from a single piece of wood.

It measures 15.25" long, 2" tall, 4.5" wide at one end, 3.75" wide at other. Cut out handle is 2.25" wide, 1.5" deep less
