Chinese table with marble insets in the top and mother of pearl decoration on the apron and legs.
The right hand marble panel is painted stone. The wood appears to be Chinese elm. The mother of pearl decorations include vases with tall flowers on the upper legs and birds on flowering branches on the lower legs. In the center of each side is a vignette with different types of birds, (flying, wading and land bound) on the sides the vignette includes some kind of mammal with a forked tail. They are flanked by flowering branches with birds.
You can use this ornate piece as a hall table, dining table or library/ writing table. We recommend getting a glass top for it.
MADE in China early-mid 20th C.
MEASURES 44.25" x 25" x 30.25".
NO MARKINGS.
Good-VG pre-owned condition. The painted stone inset has a good deal of wear on it and there is additional wear on the edges of the table top as seen in photos.
