This simple shield back arm chair has been given an aged white finish, and it has been newly re-upholstered in … more This simple shield back arm chair has been given an aged white finish, and it has been newly re-upholstered in a lush cerulean blue velvet and a distressed linen toile. The white frame is sturdy and solid. This chair was crafted when furniture was still well built. It features classic Louis XVI fluted legs with a well-proportioned shield back and very simple fluting to the arm supports. Beautiful restoration work has been done to the vintaged white finish of the frame, and it displays no apparent signs of wear and tear that might give away its actual age. We took great pains to find upholstery fabric that suited the period and design of the chair. (The original upholstery was simply too far gone to retain.) The blue velvet is spectacular with the subdued colors in the distressed linen toile: blues, reds, greens, camel, and parchment. The overall effect is beyond spectacular. The chair is 36 inches high with a seat height of 18 inches. It is 23 ½ inches wide and 19 ½ inches deep. less
