Alexander Jamieson was born in Glasgow in 1873. He studied painting at the Glasgow School of Art where he developed an Impressionistic style. He worked mostly in oil and painted Landscapes, town scenes and the occasional Portrait.
This painting of Walter Andrew Inderwick combined both Jamieson's talents in Landscapes and Portraits. Here Inderwick is portrayed shooting in the grounds of The Royal Taxophilite Society in Bayswater, London. Inderwick was the champion archer in both 1821 and 1924.
You will see another painting by Alexander Jamieson in my collection called The Millpond. Both of these paintings are beautiful depictions of the greenery of England. Jamieson's landscapes are gorgeously done, with a richness of colour. There are so many shades of green in his paintings that they are too numerous to count nor name.
This print is offered on Hahnemuhle Fine Art Paper printed using the Giclee Method.
This print is offered in roughly the same size as the original painting, 32" wide x 18" high.
