This print was pulled from a … more Wonderful, original, hand colored portrait print titled "The Rose of May", by Nathaniel Currier. This print was pulled from a Pennsylvania estate dating back to 1732. Noted on the print, it was produced at 152 Nassau Street, Corner of Spruce Street, NY, and is dated 1847, pre-dating the formal establishment of Nathaniel Currier's widely known printing company, Currier & Ives.

This portrait features a young girl in period dress, holding a small bouquet of pink roses.

Framed in original, period frame with original glass. The frame appears to be made of walnut veneer on wood, and has original wood panel backing behind brown, paper backing with a wire for mounting.
