Francois Carre patented these chairs in 1866. This chair is believed to be antique and original, not the 1940's version, differentiated by the form of the legs. The iron has a rich patina and it has all the original form, spring, bounce and strength. It is a comfortable chair as the design utilizes thin steel bands to provide cushion and flex on both the seat back and seat bottom when sitting. True sculptural piece! Seat 17"H. Estimated early 1900s.
