This painting by British artist Auguste Bouvier who was know for his Genre scenes and Portraits. He specialized in elegantly attired women as subjects. They were primarily British aristocrats and he also did many book illustrations.
These three classical maidens, sitting on a beautifully robed sofa, have an ethereal feel due to the soft colors and the muted light. I do love the gentleness of this painting.
This painting would be appropriate for a child's room. Or anywhere something lovely is needed.
