He began as an engineer but soon began painting. He moved to Arles, one of Van Gough's favourite places, and set up his studio.
He began by painting numerous frescoes but by 1935, he had returned to Paris to paint. By 1940, when Germany invaded Paris, he returned to Arles. He became involved with the Resistance and continued to paint.

He is well known for his Landsacapes. This particular one must have been in a coastal region as you can see the shore in the distance. I was unable to find much information on this picture but the depth of the landscape is very appealing.

Likely this print is in a private collection and is therefor quite rare.
