The round white porcelain bowl with round walnut base accompanies a matching serving fork and spoon. The Capri line was originally introduced in the 1950s and features white porcelain and walnut pieces.

Michael Lax attended New York School of Music and Art, Alfred University, and studied Scandinavian modern design on a Fulbright Fellowship. Lax worked with Russel Wright and was widely known for designing many household products for Dansk and Lightolier, among others. The Lytegem lamp and enamel-coated tea kettle he designed are part of permanent Museum collections.
