The carpet is a Berber-speaking tradition because, in southern Morocco, in the Upper and Middle Atlas, the carpet has flourished (under the name: Tazarbit). The region of Ouarzazate has two main cooperatives: The cooperative of Ouarzazate and The Cooperative of Taznakht.
