We have sold several French chaise pieces but this is different. This came straight out of Palm Beach. This is an antique as you can see it is put together with dowels. We had 2 French experts look at it and it is either late 1800s or early 1900s. The carving is just gorgeous. Especially the front with the shell detailing. Even the back legs are carved. The fabric which has some stains from probably 1960s. This at one time had a loose bottom piece which is not needed but would have been great to complete the look. This can be a daybed or chaise. I am listing this under value as it will need new fabric paint and shipping. The curves make me think this would be gorgeous in a Coastal waterfront home. The curves are a good example of the Louis XV style. It is really gorgeous. Perfect for any French lover.
Condition: Needs new paint and fabric. I thought the paint was pretty but our experts said it needs to be brought back to an original paint job.
