So much history with this company! This is a rare woven wicker and wood picnic basket with handles and hinged lid from the 1950's. It has the original metal tag still affixed to the underside of the lid which states "Manufacturers of Red-Man Quality Baskets, Peru, Ind USA
Redmon Company of Peru Indiana.Redmon was known for their high quality baskets which they produced since the 1880's. Their baskets were marketed under the RED-MAN name and featured an Indian head logo. If you would like to research further, here is a link to their site which I found very interesting.
