Offered is a pair of vintage fan back Windsor chairs with high backs made by the company of Fredrick Duckloe … Read more Offered is a pair of vintage fan back Windsor chairs with high backs made by the company of Fredrick Duckloe & Brothers out of Portland Pennsylvania. The company produced quality Windsor chairs from 1859 to its closing in October of 2021 due to Covid. The set consists of two fan back Windsor chairs. They are constructed of a variety of wood including a poplar seat, maple legs, ash bends and hickory spindles. Duckloe Windsor chairs have always been highly sought after for their style and quality construction. There are no screws or mechanical fasteners used in their construction. The chairs are assembled using only glue and split spindles and wedges as were used over 150 years ago. The seats are carved out to be ergonomically comfortable to sit in without the use of cushions. Since they are no longer in production the only place to find them today is on the secondary market. These chairs are from an estate in Allentown Pennsylvania. They were well taken care of and are in beautiful condition. As with all preowned furniture they do have some light wear marks and signs of use commensurate with use and age. They are sturdy and with care should provide generations of use for your home and family. Please look carefully at the pictures as they are an important part of the description.
