This acrylic on canvas work was created … Read more Original, bright, colorful abstract expressionist painting by existing active American artist, Yvonne Duval. This acrylic on canvas work was created in 2011 and is called "Midnight in the Park". This painting evokes high energy with its thickly applied paint using brushes and pallete knife and the selection of very bright reds, blues, orange, yellow with a dark blue and black ground. Edges of the canvas over the wood stretchers is painted matte black. Signed, titled and dated on the back using a black marking pen. A very uplifting and inspiring work to enhance any space!

Yvonne Duval, born in 1959, started painting professionally in the early 90's, exhibiting in Hawaii, Nantucket, MA and Philadelphia with private galleries. Her early works consisted of acrylic and oil pastel on canvas and were known for their vibrant color and energetic feel. This self taught artist moved to California in the early 2000s and added shows in galleries in Laguna Beach and Cambria, CA. Today, she is concentrating on abstract expressionist works in Resin on Plastic which are carried by Saatchi Art. See less
