Over her career, Kertes has been featured in numerous exhibitions, including the Descanso Gardens where she was a Featured Artist from 1999 to 2015 and held solo exhibits at the Heritage Art Gallery in 2011 and 2014. She has also exhibited at the Montrose Annual Art Walk (2004-2014), United Craftsman in Big Bear (2004-2013), and Segil Fine Art Gallery (2005-2013), with solo shows in 2005 and 2008. Additionally, Kertes participated in annual exhibits at the La Canada Library (2000-2010) and was an artist at the City of Sierra Madre Art Walk in multiple years. Influenced by French and Early California Impressionists as well as contemporary artists like Margot Lennartz and Karl Dempwolf, Kertes began her art journey at Barnsdall Art Center in the 1970s. She primarily works in oils, often painting en plein air to capture the changing light and atmosphere of outdoor scenes. Her plein air studies frequently become larger studio pieces, and she also creates still life paintings inspired by her garden and personal collections. less
