- A bronze animal, possibly a panther, from Ancient Rome. There is a marvelous patina on this beautifully rustic animal figure … more A bronze animal, possibly a panther, from Ancient Rome. There is a marvelous patina on this beautifully rustic animal figure that demonstrates its age. The animal is set with a 21 karat gold bale and accented feet, and fashioned into horizontal orientation. This from the 1st to 3rd Centuries AD and was created by lost-wax casting; further details were hand-chiseled. The Roman Empire consumed most of Western Europe, some of North Africa, and as far west as Syria during this time period. This is an artisan-made custom piece with precious metal and ancient materials. Height includes bale. less
