This ancient scarab from Egypt is from the 1st Century BC. This Egyptian scarab is made from faience or baked glass and is set beautifully in 21 K gold. The scarab was sacred to Egyptian culture and had an enormous scope of use and symbolism. This particular scarab piece was likely used as a politician or magistrate's seal because of the inscriptions carved into its underside. Measurement: 9/16"W x .25"D x 1 1/8"H less
