This antique mortar from Spain, once used to grind various ingredients for cooking or medicinal purposes, is nicely sized standing approximately 21.5" in height. It has a rounded shape with four downward facing spear-shaped handles which adorn the upper exterior rim. This piece is nicely weighted, has a lovely patina and weathered/worn exterior which makes it just that much more charming. This 18th century Spanish stone mortar would make a wonderful stand alone accent piece, or perhaps a great place to hold a potted plant (indoors) or garden planter for outdoor use. See less
