Artist Fernando Palos employs a straightforward interplay of shapes and colors in this lithograph. A first impression leads us to assemble geometric figures, initiating the idea of movement. This movement transforms into a possible creature. The contrast of black and red may suggest an internal conflict that could evoke ferocity or resistance. The articulated appendages resemble arms or legs, structured by integrating small circles similar to the hinges' centers.
Here, we observe the same symbolism as the traditional representation of Yin and Yang. Palos replaces white, symbolizing purity and transcendence, with red, the color of blood, passion, and vitality. Blood, like life, circulates continuously, especially around our hearts. The heart – the undeniable center of our existence.
I added the blue matching one picture (see listing).
