Pair of hand wrought brass and iron Federal Period andirons by Richard Whittingham, circa 1810. Ball tops with belted center. Seamed brass construction to top elements. Splayed spurred cabriole legs rest atop balled feet and are peened to iron log holders. One andiron is stamped R. WITTINGHAM N.YORK.
Each andirons measures 9.75" W X 18" H X 20" D. Andirons will ship dissasembled and can can easily be assembled by hand. Due to age, use and the hand wrought nature of these andirons, one does not andiron does not stand prefectly straight up. This adds to the charm of these antique pieces.
