Offering a very unique vintage Chinese Porcelain Tea Canister With Phoenixes, Butterflies and Pink Peony Flowers. Most likely this canister is from the early to Mid 20th Century. The canister has a lot of traditional Chinese motifs throughout the entire piece. There are pink rose medallions, butterflies and curving phoenixes with their long green tails on each of the 4 panels surrounding the entire jar. The lid is also highly decorated with metallic gold glaze and also pink flowers and birds. This tea caddy retains its original insert dish, most likely used a a dish for a spoon or a place for tea bags.
EXCELLENT CONDITION....this item appears at was never used and sat upon a shelf for decoration for years.
A great Chinese Tea Caddy that is truly decorative. Tea was expensive back then and the Chinese purposely put a lot of decoration on these valued containers.
