Possibly of the famous Golfer Sam Snead and company.
Victor Olson (1924-2007) of Fanton Meadows, West Redding, Connecticut was a well known, award-winning Fairfield County artist, as well as an illustrator and graphic designer.
He has illustrated many national pulp magazine covers for paperback publications and magazine stories for such publishers as Doubleday, Avon Books, MacFadden Books, Bantan and Monarch.
Victor Olson(1925-2007) Redding CT.
Mr. Olson was born in Bridgeport , CT and was a lifelong CT resident. He was a well-known artist. Mr. Olson was a graduate of Bassick High School and attended the Art Career School of New York. Olsen was a well-known award-winning Fairfield county artist, as well as an illustrator and graphic designer. He has illustrated many national magazine covers for paperback publications and magazine stories for such publishers as Doubleday, Avon books, MacFadden Books, Bantam and Monarch. He is famous for his racy pulp fiction art.
One of Mr. Olson's paintings of the founder of Sikorsky Aircraft, Igor Sikorsky's portrait, belongs to the Smithsonian Institute Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.; also, as part of the 40th anniversary of the founding of the American Helicopter Society, a painting of Mr. Sikorski's attempt to construct a vertical flying machine for his first solo flight in Bridgeport. Also, a painting by Mr. Olson of a typical New England scene belongs to the private collection of former President Lyndon B. Johnson. He was a life member of the Scandinavian Club, Fairfield, and the S.S. Norden Club.
