- These Charles and Ray Eames-designed chairs were manufactured by Herman Miller. All five chairs are dated July 1982. They were … more These Charles and Ray Eames-designed chairs were manufactured by Herman Miller. All five chairs are dated July 1982. They were originally purchased by a Washington, DC, architecture firm and they used them in the firm's conference room for about 19 years. After the firm closed, they were acquired in 2001 by the current owner who used them in an academic library from 2001-2021. They have been in storage since 2021. The rust-colored tweed-like fabric is clean and in good condition. There is slight "slump" in the back and side upholstery but it does not cause any discomfort. less
