Artfully done floral tobacco leaf decorative chinoiserie earthenware lidded box resting on a footed iron pedestal base, beautiful, isn’t it? Nicely weighted with an amply sized interior, perfect for storing trinkets on a vanity top or for use as a vide poche on an entryway table. This beauty measures 9½” high with the lid on; 6½” high without the lid. It is 9¾” wide from foot-to-foot and 7¼” deep from foot-to-foot; interior 7” x 5” x 3¾” W/D/H; weight 8 lbs. 5 oz. Medium is glazed earthenware with a vintage crackling effect which adds depth and character to the look-and-feel of the box. The floral tobacco leaf motif includes a few whimsical birds and is adorned in subdued hues of yellow, sage, terracotta, chestnut and linen white; iron base has an antiqued brass finish. In excellent condition with minimal to no wear. Makers logo is in the center hidden by the iron base on the underside but the maker is Wong Lee. FYI: The iron base is permanently affixed to the box. It hails from the early to mid 1990s. With its warm and charming Chinoiserie-style, it is certain to complement most any design style and color scheme!
