This unique and colorful pair of vintage sake decanters were produced in mid-century Japan for the Kamotsuru Sake company--and still display the original labels on the back of each decanter. The decanter/bottles are made of porcelain lavishly decorated in the moriage style, with gilded accents. They depict two of the "Seven Gods of Good Fortune": JUROJIN, the white-bearded God of Longevity and Wisdom, who carries a staff and wears a scholar's headdress; and DAIKOKU, the God of Wealth and Abundance, who carries a sack of treasures on his back and sits on two bags of rice.
Condition is excellent with no chips or cracks and with only very slight wear to the gilding in some spots. There are signs of age and use in the stoppers and attached corks, which have degraded over time and no longer fit snugly. There is also a small chip in Daikoku's stopper. See photos for these flaws.
The Jurojin decanter measures 10.25"h X 4"w X 3.25"d
The Daikuko decanter measures 9"h X 4.5"w X 4"d
