Stately and elegant Handpainted and gilded, a large sauce boat with integral stand in the French Empire style. Ruby red glaze made from golddust which when fired creates this glorious red we see before us
A true delight and hard to find,a graceful shape, sits on a pedestal, which descends to a flat foot, which is attached to the oval under plate. It is decorated with a rich ruby border, with gold rim, and on one side, a delicate overlay of gold filigree in swirls and lines, and the other a curvy line with spear border, but the most spectacular is the richly gilt handle, with a "Bacchus" face, whose beard and hair is styled as leaves. Stunning !
