The sheep spend the summers roaming free through the mountains of the region. Their wool is long and lustrous, as it must be for the mountain winters in this part of the world. The preparation and preservation of this pelt has been done with traditional methods. The pelt has never been used and is, therefore, in "like new" condition. The leather on the reverse side feels almost as soft as the wool. Norwegians in the Arctic regions put these pelts on their beds to keep their feet warm during the winter. It is sufficiently sturdy such that it can be used as a rug, but it is so caressible that you might simply want to wrap yourself in it as a throw. The pelt is obviously not symmetrical, but it measure approximately 41 inches long by 33 inches wide. The wool is thick and luxurious, and some strands are over 5 inches long. See less

Perfection is not a term to be used on such an item, as all such products are different. All sheep are different. Please do not confuse the unique characteristics of this farm-tanned pelt with "imperfections". It has never been used. It has been carefully stored and preserved. It is "new" condition. less
