Mid-century two-strand transitional arm 3 seat sofa with arched base. This sofa features a unique pole rattan back with fancy wrappings at the joints. The arm is indicative of the transitional sofa pieces that stormed America's shores after WWII in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
The bridged base also accentuates the curvature and craftsmanship to shape rattan

Tropical Sun Rattan was started in 1934 at 117 West Colorado Blvd in Pasadena. By 1938 we had showrooms in the Los Angeles and San Francisco furniture marts and have been selling rattan furniture ever since. We moved to the famous Melrose Ave in the 1970s and combined our storefront with Harvey's in West Hollywood. “Harvey wrote the book on rattan furniture in 1997.” We buy, refinish, and sell vintage rattan and have the biggest stock of vintage rattan in the world! We have a selection of rattan designed by Milo Baughman, Paul Lazlo, Paul Frankl, Shirley Ritts, and Tropical Sun Rattan.
