This Keith Haring Estate very rare vintage 1993 offset lithograph print custom framed collector's iconic Pop Art poster " Poster for Tony Shafrazi Gallery " 1982, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The Pop Art poster print is published by Te Neues Publishing Company, New York and Te Neues Verlag, Kempen. printed in Germany in 1993 in an unnumbered limited edition with the authorized licensed rights of The Estate of Keith Haring. It features an iconic artwork image originally created by Haring in 1982 titled " Poster for Tony Shafrazi Gallery " copyright The Estate of Keith Haring.
This is a rare opportunity for true Keith haring and Pop Art fans and collectors both as this coveted image poster print is long out of print and very scarce to find. The official " KH " Estate seal of authenticity is printed on the poster in the lower bottom left front.
Keith Haring ( 1958 - 1990 ) was an incredibly vibrant American artist and social activist who's artwork responded to the 1980's Street culture by expressing concepts of birth, death, sexuality, and war. Haring's work was often heavily political, his imagery became a widely recognized vivid and iconic visual language of The 20th Century. Haring's close friends and inspirational contemporaries included Andy Warhol, Jean Michel Basquiat, and Madonna all of whom he collaborated with in his lifetime. Artworks by Haring are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
The artwork image reproduced in this poster is taken from the exhibition poster from Keith Haring's first solo exhibition at a major New York gallery in 1982 at the famous Tony Shafarzi Gallery. The " Keith Haring Drawings " exhibition poster artwork was born out of Haring's white on black, chalk like design of his infamous subway drawings of the same period. It features his radiant baby, barking dog among other key early defining imagery. An exceptional document of his early career and first major gallery show. An event now considered by many as an important milestone for him becoming the internationally known artist and cultural icon.
The rare out of print collector's framed Pop Art poster measures 24" W X 32" H X 1" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern matte finish black metal frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent condition. The poster print is in excellent vintage condition consistent with age, light to moderate signs of handling, and some light to moderate visible surface wear.
