Description: A fantastic and rare early English oak table was bought in Boston in the 1950s, moved to California and in … more A fantastic and rare early English oak table was bought in Boston in the 1950s, moved to California and in the same family since. Beautiful patina throughout. The top consists of broad boards with wonderful expert early repairs. There are no nails, it’s all wooden peg, mortice-and-tenon, and tongue-and-groove construction. The legs are cylindrical with doric details on the top and bottom. The apron is a solid piece with molded carving.

It has been used as a dining table for many years. It would also be beautiful as a hall, foyer, desk, or console table.

The low floor-hugging stretchers are worn down in spots; there are scratches, notches, and wear throughout. These all add to the fantastic character of a useful table of over 200 years old. less
