Born in Nagoya, Japan, Yokoi studied art at Tokyo's Bunka-Gakuen University where the curriculum emphasized realism and everyday still life subject matter. She later moved to Paris, where she studied under Stanley William Hayter, and then later to New York. Yokoi's works are represented in the Musée National d'Art Moderne in Paris and the Brooklyn Museum. less
