Presenting a stunning spherical turquoise faience Primavera Atelier Art Deco table lamp. This stylish piece serves as both a statement and a vibrant splash of color, making it perfect for a modern entryway or living room.
The Primavera Atelier, a collaborative effort among designers, artisans, manufacturers, and retailers, played a pivotal role in ushering modernity into the realm of decorative arts. Operating in France from 1912 to 1972, with intermittent pauses during the World Wars, the establishment's significance and influence were underscored by the presence of a Primavera Atelier Pavilion at the Paris 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts—a testament to its pivotal role during the peak of the Art Deco period.
The lamp's body is distinctly marked on the underside with a black-painted VF monogram, a hallmark associated with Primavera ceramics. For a closer look, zoom into the photos to appreciate in detail. It can serve as both a lamp and a vase due to its French-style wiring, featuring the electric wire on the exterior of the lamp base. Consequently, the pottery base remains intact, lacking a factory-made cable hole commonly found in most lamp bases. With a substantial weight of almost 8 lbs. when unpacked, this piece adds a sense of luxury to any space.
In very good condition with crazing typical of glazed faience and minor imperfections from the manufacturing process, as shown in the photos. The item will be shipped fully insured with a tracking number. The shade (14x12x9") shown in the photos is for illustration purposes only and is not included.
Measurements: Lamp: 22 1/2" tall including finial; ceramic body: 10 5/8" high by 11" diameter at widest point approximately. less
