18th C City of Oxford Hand-Tinted Engraving John Boydell Matted Framed Large - 1751, England. It depicts a summer view of the city of Oxford with a field of wheat being harvested by a team of reapers in the foreground. It is inscribed as follows:

Jn. Boydell Delin & Sculp. Published according to Act of Parliament by the Proprietor J. Boydell at the Unicorn the corner of Queen Street in Cheapside London 1751. Price 1 S.
John Boydell (1720-1804) was an 18th Century English engraver, print publisher and Lord Mayor of London. It comes ready to display in a gilt patinated wood frame. Fine framer's label on reverse that reads as follows: "The Old Print Shop, New York". Photographed through glass which explains reflections. In very good condition with minor toning and imperfections as shown. Perfect gift for Oxford alumnus or similar.
