The copper and sage paint ignites the plywood surface with cosmic energy. It’s as if Tan has captured the essence of the “Big Bang” complete with the sun’s rays as implied by the string. Tan works almost exclusively in this drip manner with each composition taking on a life of it’s own. The addition of string is a bit of a deviation from Tan’s other work… making this painting especially unique. The mixed media assemblage is constructed on thick plywood. It’s a square dimension but can be hung from one corner like a diamond. There’s also a french cleat on the back for easy and safe wall mounting. less
