Soviet era Herend porcelain urn decorated with a custom painted pattern, used only in the year 1949, specifically for that year's World Congress of Trade Unions. It depicts a porcelain worker standing in front of a factory on one side. The other side is decorated with a globe surrounded by a ribbon of flags stemming from Hungary. A lengthy text inscription on the bottom front reads as follows: A szakszervezetek harmadik világkongresszusának a Herendi Porcelángyár dolgozóitól (For the third World Congress of Trade Unions from the employees of Herend Porcelain Factory). An historic, unique, museum quality piece. Inscription rubbing and minor imperfections as shown.
