Mola Textiles of the Cuna (Kuna) Indians, San Blas Island, Panama
Mid-20th century/vintage showcasing layers of hand stitched textile applique by Kuna women. Intricate details with quality craftsmanship incorporating white background into the design. Additional details atop vibrant, multi-color figural Toucan bird with snake.

This piece is in very good vintage condition. The black wood frame has been given fresh coats of satin black paint. There is some matting lint in one corner under the glass-see photo. There is a dye variation/mark original to the textile on the bird’s yellow foot-see photo.
