The hand-carved bed is special, the wood carving is elaborate and neat. Tongue and groove and pegged construction (no hardware). Very sturdy, but easy to assemble and disassemble without any tools. Beautiful muted red shows signs of wear and marks commensurate with age. Please look at the photos carefully to see the beautiful patina and wear marks customary for age and provenance. This bed is much more reserved than some of the more ornate ones we have seen and it looks terrific in both more traditional and contemporary settings. Looks beautiful when made up as a bed and decorated with pillows, and drapes, Fits a king-size mattress perfectly. All parts are marked for easy assembly, so you know which ones go together. Obviously, there are no instructions but if you have a photo to go by you can easily assemble. 84.2” long x 73.5” deep x 84” tall when assembled.

The bed's construction is fascinating, as no nails or glue were used. All wooden framework, beam supports, panels and carvings are held in place by locking together with tension, approximately 16 carved panels. bed will be disassembled for shipping. less
